Life Online Closer Every Day

AuctionZip.com, the nation’s largest live auction website, has announced its Real Estate Auctions Page. With the launch of this new page, offering more than 3,500 upcoming real estate auctions and the ability to search by area, property type and auctioneer, real estate buyers are going to the site in record numbers. The new Real Estate Auctions Page will serve as a portal dedicated solely to Real Estate Auctions. The new page will feature live auctions, online auctions, and real estate auction information.

AuctionZip was launched in January of 2004. Three years later it is the nation’s largest live auction website with over 16,000 upcoming auctions (of all types) posted by over 9,500 auctioneers. Last month over 430,000 unique visitors viewed 17 million pages on the website.

Has The World Gone Mad?

In a survey of men and women who work in small businesses, it was revealed that the majority of American small business workers love their jobs, have short commutes and work between 40 and 60 hours a week.

I believe the key word in the above sentence is “small.” Small business is definitely more friendly to workers. I also would put money on the probably that a quite a few of those small businesses have an Internet component. Anyway, back to the story:

The survey of 1124 men and women was conducted this month by iContact, an email marketing and surveying platform for small businesses. Respondents were asked a series of questions on their working habits, their commute time, their status in their companies, and how much they did - or did not - like their jobs.

An overwhelming majority of small business workers - 75 percent said they would rate their jobs an 8, 9 or 10 on a scale of 1 to 10 - with 10 being an “I love my job” answer. Less than 3 percent of those surveyed gave their jobs a “3″ or below. The findings were consistent among men and women, with men indicating slightly higher job satisfaction (75 percent to 74 percent) than women.

Ultimate Geekdom

You may think you’ve seen it all, that geeks can no longer surprise/stun/amuse you. Yeah, you need to point your jaded clicker to Chris Pirillo’s light-saber mac attack on YouTube.

Have they taken this PC vs. Mac battle too far?

Never!

Reading Offline

I love books - not just the ones you can download, but the ones you can hold in your hands and read. One of my favorite places to find the odd and usual book online is Alibris. I’m tempted to say if can’t find it there you don’t need to read it… but I won’t go that far.

My book bug is much more tolerable now that I’ve found Alibris offers coupons online at Coupon Chief. Right now they have some great 10 percent off coupons and a free shipping offer.

If you’re idea of reading pleasure leans toward the magazine, you should look into the Best Deal Magazines coupons. They can save you bundles on a huge selection of magazines and publications.

Enjoy!

Less Than Inspiring Quote #1

“Trouble springs from idleness, and grievous toil from needless ease.” Ben Franklin

Old Ben has a way of making me feel like a sloth every time I turn away from the computer for two minutes. What the heck is needless ease anyway? I need all the ease I can get STAT. Can’t imagine being married to him.
