Alleged Album Maker Freeware

I found a cool download – at least it would be cool if it actually worked on my ratty-assed computer. (No offense, babe. I loves ya!) Take a look:

MakeitOne MP3 Album Maker (allegedly) allows you to (allegedly) join selected MP3 files into a single file that is (allegedly) compatible with any MP3 player and tag editor. The album file is (allegedly) a single, large MP3 file that contains the (alleged) merged tracks. The Album Maker (allegedly) can also (allegedly) unpack any album that was (allegedly) created with the software. (Info shamefully stolen from freesofwaredownload.blogspot.com

MP3 Album Maker is written in C# and requires the DotNet Framework which can be download direct from microsoft.

The parenthetical comments are mine. If you get this to work, let me know what if anything you had to tweak.

p.s. Yes, I have the .net framework, thanx.

Stickypaper Freeware

Here’s a cool freeware alternative to the standard post it note programs you can find around the Web:

Stickypaper is a sticky note application that has much more functionality than most of its kind. It enables you to create normal sticky notes as well as pictures, real-time notes with RSS, and just about anything else with its fully scriptable system.

The documentation is in Japanese, but the program is in English. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out if you have basic familiarity with these type of apps. Also, this application requires GDI+.dll (883 kB). Download Stickypaper and the .dll file here.

Enjoy responsibly. Or not.

Get Gamey

Scorched 3D is a game based loosely (or actually quite heavily) on the classic DOS game Scorched Earth: “The Mother Of All Games.”

Scorched 3D adds among other new features a 3D island environment and LAN and Internet play. Scorched 3D is free and is available for both Microsoft Windows and Unix (Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OS X, Solaris etc.) operating systems. The graphics are surprisingly complex and beautiful. Enjoy them while you’re blowing shit up.

And yeah, it’s freeware. Woot.

Lens Pixel Editing Freeware

I haven’t tried Lens, but its creator, Markus Welz, says it is a very useful tool for software developers and computer graphics artists who need single-pixel-accuracy. Lens will assist you by magnifying the area around the mouse pointer. Unlike with many other magnifying tools you don’t have to pause during the process of magnification. Lens continually updates its window and always stays on top.

Among many other features it is possible to measure distances between two pixels within the Lens-window. The magnification factors range from one to ten fold.

A menu pops up when you click on the Lens-window with the right mouse button. Download Lens freeware.
