Wize Processor Buys

I’m liking the beta of the Wize computer and electronics web site. As their logo boasts, they offer “Millions of Opinions. One score.” on some best selling computer components.

If you’re in the market for computer processors, Wize is currently offering the AMD Athlon 64 upgrade, the AMD Sempron 3000+, and the Intel Core 2 Duo as just a couple of their highest rated products based on users’ opinions. You can customize your product searches with a wide selection of variables including price, brand, processor clock speed, and performance.

Wize looks like it will be a contender when it clears its beta. It has some strong concepts behind it and if the customer service can compete, Wize will be a winner.

iPhone and Non-Apple Apps

Good idea. Mobile phones are hardly just telephones any more and if a company doesn’t open itself up to the apps from third party developers they’re just asking for an early death. Obvious. Too obvious for me to believe that Apple really believed it could remain locked tight for long.

My opinion is they wanted to keep control during roll out and make sure they had a secure product. But not preparing the developers’ pack to release until way after Christmas was dumb. They should have given developers something to work with before releasing the iPhone, even if it was a dumbed down version that protected the security.

Whatever. They still ain’t MicroSoft.

Drive the Horn

Three-wheeled shoehorn? I want to do my all for the environment, but people you gotta remember we have to drive these things. In public. Where people can see us.

Honestly, I don’t care about looks. What I want from an alternative fuel vehicle are two simple things: Power and safety. I can’t sacrifice one for the other if I’m really going to hit the highway in it and the NMG looks like it fits the bill. 75 mph and 30 miles per charge sounds damn good to me – and the price tag is more than reasonable.

Excellent.

Nano Rocks a Little

Hmm … I wanted to write something crushingly clever here, but actually the story is too damn interesting to mock. And if you’re wondering, yes, that does hurt.

Nano devices are fascinating and like every technological advancement have incredible potential for Good or Google Evil. I’m glad they’re extending the power supplies to nanoscale as well. No point in having an invisible computer if you have to wear the battery in a backpack.

iPhone Lawsuit Threatened

iPhones may cause birth defects?

Looking through the brochure of features, I don’t see that listed … All I can say is this better have been an oversight and not just overlooked because I’m running out of companies to have any modicum of faith in. Or maybe those wacky enviros are just on a jag again.

Somehow, my doubts still surface.

Zune Tries Again

Zune? What is this Zune of which you speak?

What? I can’t hear you over my DRM compliant iPod … Well, it’s enough to know that if it’s Microsoft “it’s got to be good!”

*will you please take the gun from my head now?*
